One of the most frequently asked questions I get is “Do you have any location recommendations?”. And while there are so many beautiful places in Austin to shoot, my favorite place has to be your home. It is an underrated and sacred space that bodes so well for those cozy intimate shots.

This family recently renovated their 1930’s house into a modern work of art. I loved all of their design choices and the way the entire home felt so inviting. Not to mention, the lighting was impeccable. Their son was a little skeptical of me at first, but soon warmed up to me.

Staying at home for a photoshoot means that you have everything you need nearby. Diapers, snacks, and even a change of clothes if your little one decides to pee on you. Which yes, did happen during this session, but it wasn’t a big deal at all. Just a quick wardrobe change and we were back to snapping sweet photos in no time.

I’m a big believer that babies are energy conductors. They pick up on the mood of the room and it can alter how they feel. These parents might have been the most chill, easy-going parents I’ve ever met. Even their dog, Emmyou, was so at ease. They are big music lovers, so there was relaxing music playing and lots of singing and dancing. A perfect blend for a great photoshoot.

It’s almost unbelievable how quickly children grow. In the blink of an eye they go from barely being able to hold their head up to sprinting down the hallway. I was so honored this family allowed me into their beautiful home to capture these lovely images of their little one. These are memories they will cherish for years and will remind them of this precious window of time when their boy was only 3 months old and oh so tiny.
