Family Sessions
What To Expect
With kids and families, it’s best to hit the ground running. I give lots of direction during the session to invoke genuine smiles, but I really love just capturing families being themselves.
During the session we will walk a lot and keep the kids moving and entertained . When the kids get bored of me, we can take a moment to get some intimate shots of Mom & Dad, which is usually my favorite part. My shooting style depends on the mood that day. I prefer to read the room (so to speak) and shoot according to your family’s energy. Some kids like a calm and quiet environment, where others are off to the races and I have to keep up!
My goal is to deliver images to you that capture your family’s true essence… even the chaos.

That’s totally up to you! Home is often the best and easiest place for photos. It offers a very personal and intimate environment where everything you need is nearby and the kids feel most comfortable. Best part is, you don’t even have to wear shoes!
If you want outdoors, I have lots of suggestions. If there is a spot in town that holds special meaning to you, let me know. I’m always open to your ideas. -
My rule of thumb is to pretend a friend or family member is coming over for a visit. Pick up trash and clutter in the rooms you know we’ll be shooting in, but you don’t have to hire a cleaning crew to scrub the baseboards.
Lifestyle means capturing your real life. Practical items around the house (like books, toys, etc.) can show your family’s character and portray a realistic portrait of your everyday life. -
Sorry, but no. We can discuss a general feel of the photos you wish to create, but every session is different. Lighting, weather, and children’s moods can change at the drop of a hat. Pinterest can be a great source for posing and wardrobe ideas, but let’s work together to create your own unique memories.

I require a 50% deposit to hold your date. This is a retainer fee in the promise that I will perform photo services for you and turn down any other potential clients that may want that date. The remaining balance is due 1 day before the session.
I understand that life is unpredictable. Kids get sick, your husband has to unexpectedly go out of town. So if you need to reschedule, that’s okay. If you need to reschedule, let me know within 48 hours of your session and I’ll send you a special calendar so you can pick a better day.
If the location of your photoshoot is scheduled at a venue that has a booking fee, each venue has it's own cancellation policy that we have to adhere to. -
Yes! I love when families include their fur-babies. If the session is outdoors, I recommend bringing a friend along to help wrangle the pet while they aren’t needed for photos.
Remember to bring doggie bags, water, water bowl, and treats! -
This is a firm, NO. Sorry. I have a strict policy that does not allow anyone to alter or edit the photographs I take.
As the photographer, I will maintain full copyright ownership and grant you, the Client, a non-exclusive license to use the photos for personal use only. -
Yes! Twice a year I offer mini sessions that are a truncated version of a full session at a discounted price. Make sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook to be alerted when those sessions are available.

I’ll send you reminders about all the important things, like when to pay, what to wear, and where to meet. I won’t bug you too much, but you’ll never be left in the dark.
