This family contacted me about a maternity/family session but were a little hesitant because they had never taken professional photos before. So we scheduled a consultation call and ironed out all of the details and questions over the phone. I love educating my clients about the portrait session process so they can feel more confident walking into such an unknown activity. I know it can feel a little daunting to schedule a photoshoot, so I wanted to make it fun and easy.

Due to Covid, we decided to play it super safe and schedule a private session at The Sekrit Theater for the location of the shoot. This way we could relax and have the place all to ourselves for a full hour. We slowly walked the property while looking at all of the eclectic items in the yard. The young boy in this family loved all of the cars and buses in the yard. The greenhouse is always my favorite backdrop. It always photographs so well, regardless of the season.

Bringing a new baby into the house can be such a transformative time for a family. It was nice to watch these parents pause for a moment in time and show their love to their son. His days as an only child are numbered and I just know he’s going to make the best big brother! He is sweet, kind, and might be one of the most photogenic kids I’ve ever photographed.

These black and white photos are so sweet. For being newbies, this family really hit it out of the park!
